The three layers of data
1. Your data is yours
Everything you upload — catalogues, prices, pack sizes, menus, orders, messages — belongs to you. You own it. We host and process it so the platform works.
2. We get a limited licence to run the platform
By uploading data, you give us permission to store it, show it to the right people (for example, your product listings are shown to restaurants), and use it to improve the platform's categorisation, search, and recommendations.
We do not use your individual data to:
- disclose your pricing to other suppliers;
- disclose your order history to other restaurants;
- sell your data to third parties;
- share your identifiable business information beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.
3. Aggregated insights
We may publish or sell industry insights based on platform activity — for example, how the average price of a product category changed over a quarter across South Australia, or which categories are growing fastest in the hospitality sector.
Before any insight leaves FreshLink, we strip out everything that could identify a specific business:
- business names, ABNs, and contact details removed;
- results only reported when covering at least 5 businesses;
- location generalised to region or postcode-group;
- no individual SKUs or supplier-level prices.
Once data is in this form, it is no longer "your data" — it is statistical output that FreshLink owns and can commercialise. This is similar to how platforms like Xero's Small Business Index or industry benchmarks are produced.
What this means in practice

Your choices
- Export. You can export your data at any time from your Account.
- Delete. You can request deletion by emailing info@freshlinkhub.com.
- Opt out of aggregated insights. You cannot opt out of your de-identified data being included in aggregated insights, because once de-identified it is no longer linked to you. If this concerns you, please contact us before uploading.
